ART HK 12: Important platform for the international art community

ART HK 12 will take place 17-20 May 2012 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). It will showcase the best in contemporary art from 266 galleries representing 39 International territories. Widely acknowledged as an important platform for networking in the international art community, ART HK brings together leading collectors, curators, artists and galleries from across Asia and the rest of the world. ART HK is organised in collaboration with Art Basel, organised by MCH Group. In 2013, a new Art Basel show in Asia will replace ART HK.

LAUSANNETEC: Interdisciplinary trade fair for the subcontracting industry

LAUSANNETEC, the new interdisciplinary trade fair for the supplier industry will be opening its doors on 22 May at Expo Beaulieu Lausanne. It will be a platform for national and international key decision-makers in the watchmaking and jewellery industries, medical technology and the electrotechnical sector. 170 exhibitors will occupy an entire floor of the new South Halls, extending over almost 5500 square metres. During the trade fair, a series of nine high-level lectures will be offered on topics ranging from technological developments, marketing and standards.

MCH Group with a good result 2011

The MCH Group can post a gratifying result for 2011. With the less busy exhibition schedule due to the individual exhibition rotas the operating result and profit are below those of the previous year, as had been expected. Despite the still difficult economic conditions, it nonetheless proved possible to boost the operating result and profit to above the figures for the comparable year of 2009. With operating income of CHF 323.9 million, the group profit is CHF 20.7 million. In 2011, the MCH Group was involved in a total of 80 exhibitions. 77 exhibitions were held at the three MCH locations of Basel, Lausanne and Zurich. More than 15,000 exhibiting companies took part in the 80 exhibitions, which attracted almost two million visitors.

BASELWORLD 2012 closed its doors after eight highly successful days. With 104,300 (+1% / 2011) professional visitors from all the different continents, the show recorded a top-notch result once again. The exhibitors declared themselves to be highly satisfied with the course of business and with the media presence: 3,320 journalists (+9%) marks a new record. And now the completely revamped BASELWORLD 2013 World Watch and Jewellery Show next spring is being eagerly awaited.
