A beastly coup: a cow stolen from Swiss Expo

More than 1000 cows are presented at Swiss Expo at the start of each year. This fair in Lausanne thus constitutes the motor show of the agricultural branch, as it were. It won't matter if one cow is missing, is what resourceful thieves probably thought, as they crept into the site at night.

On the morning of 15 January 2012, the owner was beside herself. "To You" had disappeared, a Red Holstein worth around CHF 5000. "It's a sentimental and a financial loss", she lamented on the local television channel, RTS. The animal was not insured..

Amongst the exhibition management, outrage prevailed at this brazen theft. "Nothing like this has ever happened before", said Jacques Rey, President of Swiss Expo and a farmer himself. "To You" was never found.
