Pistor, the Swiss bakery and catering company, has opted for recyclable and pollutant-free materials for its exhibition stand, as well as for a long service life. Stand builder Expomobilia supplies stands with certification to this effect.
A première in Swiss stand construction: some 300 square metres of the façade on Pistor’s new exhibition stand are made of ECOR. ECOR is a comparatively new material and, according to the manufacturer, a sustainable alternative to wood which can be made into the full range of three-dimensional products in the same way as wood. The material is made of cellulose fibres obtained from newspaper, cardboard packaging and agricultural byproducts. ECOR is thus fully recyclable and free from pollutants.
CO2-neutral exhibition stands
“In terms of sustainability and ecology, the Pistor stand is exemplary”, says Peter Rütimann, the project manager in charge at Expomobilia. The stand-building company based in Effretikon, which belongs to the MCH Group, also offers sustainable and CO2-neutral exhibition stands. It received advice from the myclimate non-profit foundation to this end. In designing and executing the stands, attention is paid to a long service life and to a high degree of reusable and recyclable materials that can be deployed several times over, as well as to the use of ecologically-certified wood or a substitute material like ECOR.
The lighting is based primarily on long-life LED lights with a low energy consumption. “Even when it comes to logistics, we take care to ensure that goods are transported exclusively by vehicles equipped with ECO-Euro-5 engines, which are currently the ones with the lowest pollutant emissions”, says Rütimann.
Recyclable and free from pollutants
The Pistor exhibition stand is a modular stand concept that can be used in two different sizes at the Swiss Trade Fair for Bakery, Pâtisserie and Confectionery Requirements (FBK) and at the Igeho trade fair for catering and hotel trade. The stand also includes sufficient space for a meeting zone, tasting areas and the deployment of information media. “The decision in favour of this ‘marketplace’ concept was taken not least on account of the sustainable stand construction material proposed by Expomobilia”, says Viviana Schüpfer, Head of Marketing Services at Pistor. The company has been committed to sustainability for many years. “The first time we used the stand, we were completely delighted by the look and feel of the material”, says Schüpfer.
A modular concept for a long service life
Two further factors make a decisive contribution to sustainability: the modular concept and the intended duration of use. “The modular design means we can adapt the stand to the specific features of each individual trade fair and thus repeatedly give the stand a new, exciting look without losing the specific characteristics of the Pistor World”, explains Schüpfer. We then don’t need to build new stands. Pistor is intending to use the stand for at least a further five years, primarily at Igeho and the FBK. Sustainability and effective brand showcasing can be combined in an outstanding manner in this way.
