Art Basel Announces Galleries and First Highlights for the 2026 Show in Hong Kong
In 2026, 240 galleries from 41 countries and regions – including 32 first-time exhibitors – will take part in Art Basel Hong Kong. With a clear focus on artistic innovation, this edition underscores Hong Kong’s position as a global hub for art in Asia and beyond.
This year’s edition brings 32 galleries to Hong Kong for the first time, including from Australia, Japan, South Korea, the Greater China region, Europe, and the United States. They broaden the fair’s spectrum with new artistic positions and perspectives.
The 2026 edition of Art Basel Hong Kong is a celebration of the city’s status as Asia’s global hub for culture. It's more than an art fair – it is a living ecosystem where creativity and culture drive a vibrant, resilient art market.
2026 marks the premiere of Echoes, a new sector dedicated to works from the past five years. Ten curated presentations will each showcase up to three artists. Encounters, the sector for large-scale installations and performances, has also been newly reorganized: a collective of four curatorial voices from Asia – led by Mami Kataoka – will introduce a collaborative approach rooted in the region for the first time.
For the fifth time, Art Basel and M+ are realizing a large-scale work for the museum’s iconic façade. In the animation 3 to 12 Nautical Miles, hand-painted watercolors by artist Shahzia Sikander come to life.
With Zero 10, a curated platform for digital art, Art Basel continues to expand its engagement with new forms of collecting. Supported by OpenSea, the format—which debuted in Miami Beach—will present its second edition at Art Basel Hong Kong.
