MCH Group and Bits & Pretzels are jointly launching the health.tech | global summit in Basel – Europe’s leading platform for technology-driven innovations in healthcare.

Basel is at the heart of the healthcare sector’s profound transformation – a transformation powered by technological advancements and new models of collaboration. To further strengthen Basel’s international position as a Life Sciences hub, MCH Group is partnering with Bits & Pretzels, Europe’s leading founders’ festival, to launch the health.tech | global summit.

The event, hosted by the newly established joint venture health.tech events AG, aims to unite the entire healthcare value chain – from startups and corporates to academia, research institutions, policymakers, and investors.

"The new Health Tech conference in Basel demonstrates how MCH Group is driving innovation and developing new business models aligned with global trends and regional opportunities," says Andrea Zappia, Group CEO a.i. of MCH Group. "It will act as a catalyst for established innovation leaders and emerging startups, opening up new business opportunities and growth potential. Our goal is to create a place for exchange, inspiration, and concrete collaboration, thus strengthening both the Basel region and the healthcare sector overall."

The summit will go far beyond the traditional conference format. In addition to exhibitions, keynote speeches, and panel discussions, the program will include curated matchmaking sessions, startup pitches, and innovation showcases. A structured Hosted Buyer Program will foster direct business connections between participants.

Roman Imgrüth, CEO Exhibitions & Events at MCH Group, explains: "Besides exhibitions, panels, and keynotes, we are planning matchmaking formats, startup pitches, and innovation showcases. With over 5,000 expected participants, and a structured hosted buyer program, the conference will create highly targeted networking opportunities for decision-makers from more than 60 countries. A specially designed 'Basel Day' will also bring the summit into the city, engaging the local public and making health innovation tangible for the broader community."

Basel’s Life Sciences ecosystem provides an ideal backdrop: more than 1,000 research groups, over 800 Life Sciences companies, and around 33,000 professionals make it one of Europe’s leading locations for healthcare innovation.

"Health Tech is one of the most exciting and fastest-growing sectors, and the Basel region offers a dynamic, international ecosystem."

"We are excited to bring our experience to Basel and build a platform with international reach."
