Art Basel and Live Nation Present GOD HATES SPACE by GENER8ION
For the first time, Art Basel and Live Nation are collaborating on a project: from October 22 to 25, 2026, GOD HATES SPACE, an audiovisual installation by GENER8ION, will be presented at the Rotonde d’Antin in the Grand Palais in Paris.
GENER8ION is the creative duo of producer and composer Surkin and filmmaker Romain Gavras. Together, they have developed an artistic language in which music and image are inseparable. Surkin is associated with the French Touch 2.0 generation, while Gavras emerged from the Kourtrajmé collective.
For the presentation in Paris, the Rotonde d’Antin, which is part of the Art Basel Paris program for the first time this year, becomes an audiovisual environment. Film, sound, and architecture enter into dialogue, centered on a 12-meter double-sided screen. GOD HATES SPACE is part of GENER8ION’s fragmented narrative set in the near future and extends the universe of the duo’s new album, LOVE & TEARS, released on June 12, 2026. The track “God Hates Space feat. 070 Shake” serves as one of its opening chapters. The project is being shown in France for the first time.
With the collaboration, Art Basel Paris and Live Nation France are pursuing a shared ambition: to bring artistic and cultural scenes into dialogue, foster encounters between disciplines and audiences, and create new opportunities for contemporary French creativity to connect with audiences in France and beyond. The installation is free of charge and offers fairgoers as well as the wider public a new gateway into the world of the fair.
GOD HATES SPACE is open throughout Art Basel Paris, from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on October 22, 24, and 25, and until 10:30 p.m. on October 23. Visitors can access the installation via Entrance 4 of the Grand Palais.
