Basilia Jewellery & Watch Fair: a new international stage in the heart of Europe
MCH Group and Informa Markets are launching a new annual platform for the jewellery, gemstone and watch industry — filling a gap that has long sat open in the European calendar. First edition: April 2027, Messe Basel.
Informa Markets and MCH Group have formed a joint venture to launch Basilia Jewellery & Watch Fair, a new international platform for the jewellery, gemstone and watch industry. Held annually in Basel, it brings together buyers and specialised suppliers from across Europe and the world's key markets.
The high end of the market has its established home. But the broad commercial ecosystem behind it — manufacturers, suppliers, independent brands, retailers and buyers — has had no dedicated international B2B platform in Europe. Basilia is built for exactly this part of the industry.
By bringing together the global reach of Informa Markets, the world's leading B2B network in the jewellery sector and organiser of Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong, with MCH Group's expertise in building enduring event platforms, Basilia connects supply and demand across continents.
The first edition opens in April 2027 in Hall 2 of Messe Basel, under the theme City Under Construction, gathering more than 400 exhibitors — manufacturers, designers, brands, retailers, wholesalers, distributors and sourcing specialists from around the world. Basilia is conceived as a city in its own right, structured around the diversity of its exhibitors: jewellery quarters, diamond and gemstone districts, watch valleys, a Swiss district and a tech hub, alongside areas drawing on Hong Kong, Bangkok, Jaipur, Istanbul, Antwerp, Paris and Milan. Each district has a character of its own; each corner, something new to discover.
Hall 2, with its distinctive architecture, makes the ideal stage for a fair designed as a city within a city. And Basel — central, accessible, well connected — offers the reach and infrastructure an event of this scale requires.
A business platform lives as much on ideas as on commercial opportunity. Knowledge exchange will be a defining feature of Basilia: seminars, panel discussions and expert-led conferences will run alongside four days of networking and dialogue across the industry.
