Weinfestival Basel 2025 celebrated a highly successful edition with over 140 exhibitors, 3,000 wines, and a new citywide programme of side events. Over 14,000 visitors experienced Switzerland’s largest wine festival, which once again confirmed its key role as the leading meeting point for wine enthusiasts, producers, and traders in Northwestern Switzerland.

The Weinfestival Basel 2025 came to a successful close on Sunday evening after nine days dedicated to wine, gastronomy, and culture. With over 140 exhibitors, around 3,000 wines, and for the first time a series of vibrant side events across the city, the festival once again affirmed its position as the largest and most important wine platform in Northwestern Switzerland.

Attracting some 14,000 visitors to Hall 2 of Messe and Congress Center, the event offered countless opportunities to taste, connect, and discover. Guests exchanged directly with winemakers, producers, and wine merchants, exploring everything from rare vintages at Les Rarités and award-winning selections by La Sélection to the curated highlights of guest regions Italy, Provence, and Hungary.

"For producers, merchants, and wine lovers alike, Weinfestival Basel is an unmissable meeting point to experience quality and cultivate relationships."

From Messe to the City: A Festival Becomes Urban

For the first time, the 2025 edition extended beyond the fairground, bringing wine experiences into Basel’s city centre. From indulgent Wine & Dine evenings and the Walliser Zmittag at Ufer7 to lively Wine Night Sessions at Cube, Fiera, and Bambusnest, the festival became part of the city’s pulse.

“With these side events, we wanted to take wine beyond the exhibition halls—to where people meet,” Zürcher adds. “The strong response shows we are on the right path to anchor the festival even more firmly in Basel.”

Looking Ahead to 2026

Following this year’s success, planning is already underway for the next edition. “The combination of exhibition, art, gastronomy, and urban events has lifted Weinfestival Basel to a new level,” Zürcher concludes. “In 2026, we will build on this momentum—with new Wine & Dine experiences for the Grand Opening, fresh guest regions, stronger partnerships, and an expanded city program.”

Official partners of the festival are San Pellegrino and Aqua Panna as water partners, and Lavazza as operator of the coffee lounge.

Save the Date: The next Weinfestival Basel will take place from October 24 to November 1, 2026.
