Raphael Wyniger brings with him a great deal of know-how from the hospitality and event industry. He is familiar with the challenges and requirements facing Basel as an exhibition destination and, with his knowledge and experience, can make an outstanding contribution to the future development of MCH Group. The canton of Basel-Stadt is entitled to two seats on the MCH Group’s Board of Directors: in addition to the newly delegated Raphael Wyniger, this continues to be the financial expert Dr. Dagmar Maria Kamber Borens. The exhibitions, events, and congresses held in the canton where MCH is headquartered generate a high level of added value for the local economy and contribute to Basel’s appeal.

The Executive Council would like to express its sincere thanks to Christoph Brutschin for his great commitment as a delegate on the Board of Directors of the MCH Group. Christoph Brutschin had been a member of the Board of Directors since 2009. He served as Vice-Chairman from 2016 to 2021, was a member of the Audit Committee (AC) from 2009 to 2023 and a member of the Governance, Nomination and Compensation Committee (GNCC, Chairman since 2021) from 2020 to 2023.

Florian Faber, MCH Group CEO, says: “We are delighted with the appointment of Raphael Wyniger as the canton’s new delegate on the MCH Group’s Board of Directors. We know Raphael as a constructive partner in dialogue who, as a hotelier and restaurateur, does a great deal for the appeal of Basel as a location for exhibitions and congresses. We look forward to working with him in the future.
Our great thanks go to the outgoing member of the Board of Directors, Christoph Brutschin, who has always led the MCH Group prudently with his great experience, especially in the difficult last few years. Last but not least, Christoph Brutschin also played a key role when the public-private partnership with James Murdoch’s Lupa Systems was brought about in 2020.”
