Fast-tracking careers for youngsters

From 21 to 25 November 2023, the Berufsmesse Zürich will take place, and from 21 to 26 November the Salon des Métiers et de la Formation. The two fairs will offer young people an insight into the world of vocational training. From solar installer to diet chef to digital business developer - with over 500 apprenticeships, basic, and advanced training courses, the fair will be an indispensable event for everyone who wants to actively shape their professional future.

Practical tips for the career path

How do I convince people at a job interview? What are the benefits of a vocational school-leaving certificate, and why is gender irrelevant to the profession? The Berufsmesse Zürich provides helpful answers to precisely these questions at the short events in the Forum. At the application campus, young people can have their own application documents checked, take a professional photo or talk to current apprentices about the career search process.

Careers with a future

Our working world is constantly changing. Increasing automation and networking require new skills from today’s professionals. A current example is the new EFZ Digital Business Developer apprenticeship, which was launched for the first time in August 2023. The three-year apprenticeship as a solar installer EFZ and the two-year apprenticeship as a solar fitter EBA are also completely new. They will be offered for the first time in the 2024/2025 school year.
Also an important key position in the sustainable circular economy is the profession of recyclist EFZ. This occupation is not only about collecting and sorting waste, but also about broadening our understanding of resources and taking an active part in protecting our environment.

Skills championships

Two trade championships will showcase the exceptional skills of young talent. From November 21 to 25, Carrosserie Suisse Vaud will be organising the Vaud bodywork championships. This high-level professional competition will feature two sheet metal workers and two painters each day, who will become inspirational role models for all visitors to the show.
The final of the Vaud championship for apprentices in the bakery, pastry and confectionery trades will also be held during the show.

The Berufsmesse Zürich is organised by the KMU- und Gewerbeverband Kanton Zürich together with MCH Messe Zürich.
