Art Basel is a leading brand in the global art market. The three shows in Basel, Miami Beach and Hong Kong are among the most important art events. The physical events are complemented with the digital program “Art Basel Live”.
Our portfolio also features numerous leading platforms in Switzerland in a variety of sectors, including construction, hospitality, life sciences and education. Supplementary digital elements are being developed and provided in these areas too – for example, the “Swissbau Innovation Lab”, the community platform for the digital transformation in the Swiss construction and real estate industry.
The MCH companies staged a total of 28 exhibitions in 2019, involving a total of almost 6,000 exhibiting companies and attracting around 1,250,000 million visitors. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions imposed by the authorities, business almost came to a standstill in February 2020. In 2020, only four of the planned 24 own exhibitions could take place.
We offer holistic experience marketing solutions – from strategy to creation to implementation. Our customers are institutions, event organizers or companies in the fields of business, culture, sports. The services can be material, hybrid or digital in nature and offered worldwide.
In the Experience Marketing area, the service and offering expansion already decided before the outbreak of the pandemic is being driven forward. In the course of this process, a further dimension was added to the “Through the Line” approach, which extends from the strategy, via creation, right through to production. This is the dimension of hybrid and digital marketing solutions. Today, we can offer holistic experience marketing solutions for real and digital marketing strategies.

In 2021, our Experience Marketing division managed a total of 3,770 projects, 420 of which in Switzerland. In 2020, numerous projects had to be postponed or cancelled worldwide due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Only 1,124 or around 30% of the number of projects in the previous year could be realized in 2020.
We have our own attractive multifunctional event infrastructures in Basel and Zurich. Messe Basel provides 141,000 m2 of exhibition space, with an event hall which accommodates up to 2,500 people. Congress Center Basel has 25 halls with a capacity for up to 5,000 people. Messe Zürich provides an exhibition space of 30,000 m2.
Our trade fair and conference infrastructures not only boast the most up-to-date technology but are also at the cutting edge of environmental standards. More than 90% of their total energy consumption was sourced from renewable energies. The power consumed is also produced from 100% renewable energy. Messe Basel Hall 1 South was awarded the BS-054 Minergie label.
A total of 43 trade fairs, 28 congresses and 740 other events were held at the Basel and Zurich locations in 2019. Together, they attracted more than 1.6 million visitors. In 2020, only eight of the planned 39 exhibitions could take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The number of events at the Congress Center Basel in 2020 was also significantly lower than in the previous year, although numerous conferences could be held hybrid or virtually.
