Ilmac 2023 in Basel was a great success

From 26 to 28 September, Ilmac 2023 once again transformed the exhibition halls in Basel into the largest meeting place for the chemical and life science industries in Switzerland. The expected number of 10,000 participants was exceeded, so that around 12,000 participants experienced 400 renowned exhibitors from over 20 countries as well as many other highlights. This year, Ilmac presented many new formats and digital offers in addition to the tried and tested.

Over the course of three days, leading industry suppliers such as Agilent, Endress+Hauser, Integra, Mettler Toledo, Metrohm, Siemens and Skan, as well as 30 innovative start-ups, gathered in the exhibition halls in Basel to present their innovations and new products to around 12,000 participants. “With the new Ilmac format, we were able to respond even better to the needs of the industry and thus attract numerous exhibitors and visitors.

Efficient transfer of know-how at the Ilmac Conference.
The scientific “Ilmac Conference” impressed participants with a wide range of topics and top-class speakers. This year, the focus was on important industry topics such as “Laboratory Digitalisation”, “Chemical Technologies” and “New Biotech Methods”. The “Ilmac Conference” was organised in collaboration with the Swiss Chemical Society, the Swiss Biotech Association and the Swiss Association of Graduate Chemists (SVC), and ensured an efficient transfer of knowledge between experts and visitors.

“Our experience at Ilmac was positive throughout. We had a lot of visitors at the conference. Sustainability and digitalisation in the laboratory of the future
In the new special show “Laboratory of the Future”, participants had the opportunity to explore future-oriented systems and infrastructures for laboratories in an interactive way. They were able to gain a comprehensive picture of how the laboratory of the future will be designed in the face of increasing digitalisation and the demand for greater sustainability. In addition to the workshops and symposia at Innostage, they had the opportunity to exchange best practice examples and to network with each other.

Efficient transport solutions at Pharma Logistics Days
At the Pharma Logistics Days on 27 and 28 September, participants had the opportunity to find out about the latest trends and innovations in pharma logistics. Around 30 of the industry’s leading service providers presented their latest logistics solutions and gave visitors the opportunity to experience trucks, containers and passive packaging live. The event was framed by the Pharma Logistics Days Conference, which was addressed by Lukas Engelberger (Cantonal Councillor of the City of Basel / Head of the Department of Health / President of the GDK) and various guest speakers from the life science industry.
