Platforms and communities
Art Basel is a leading brand in the global art market. The three shows in Basel, Miami Beach and Hong Kong are among the most important art events. The physical platforms are complemented by numerous digital elements, including online viewing rooms and the global guide.
Our portfolio also features numerous leading B2B and B2C platforms in Switzerland in a variety of sectors, including construction and hospitality, life sciences, energy, education, motorbikes, house and garden. Supplementary digital elements are being developed and provided in these areas too, including an online platform for the Giardina Zürich exhibitors.
Our exhibition companies hosted 23 trade fairs last year and participated in a further five trade fairs. 22 trade fairs were held in Switzerland and six abroad (London, Miami Beach, Hong Kong and New Delhi). Of these 28 events, almost 6,000 companies were involved as exhibitors and around 1,250,000 visitors were recorded. The events had a cumulative duration of 141 days.
Live marketing solutions
The range of events supported by our Live Marketing Solutions division include corporate events such as trade fairs, roadshows, annual general meetings and company functions as well as cultural, sporting and community events for the public.
MCH Global provides companies and organisers worldwide with experience marketing solutions for the future – experience events and campaigns, hybrid events or solutions for the point of experience, using comprehensive “through-the-line solutions” from strategy and creation right through to implementation.
The two MC2 brands in the U.S. and Germany as well as Expomobilia in Switzerland, the UAE and China are mainly active in the construction experience marketing sector. Striking examples of new markets which are continually opening up are projects for the World Expo in Dubai (including the Swiss Pavilion) and experience marketing roadshows for Netflix and General Motors in the U.S.
Our Live Marketing Solutions division supported a total of 3,770 projects in the 2019 financial year. 420 projects were carried out in Switzerland and 3,464 projects abroad, including 3,294 in the U.S.
Event infrastructures in Basel and Zurich
We have our own attractive multifunctional event infrastructures in Basel and Zurich. Messe Basel provides 141,000 m2 of exhibition space (gross), with an event hall which accommodates up to 2,500 people. Congress Center Basel has 25 halls with a capacity for up to 5,000 people. Messe Zürich provides an exhibition space of 30,000 m2.
Our trade fair and conference infrastructures not only boast the most up-to-date technology but are also at the cutting edge of environmental standards. Almost 90% of their total energy consumption was sourced from renewable energies. The power consumed is also produced from 100% renewable energy. Messe Basel Hall 1 South was awarded the BS-054 Minergie label.
A total of 43 trade fairs, 28 conferences and 740 other events were organised at the Basel and Zurich locations in 2019. Over 1.6 million visitors were recorded at both locations. The 43 trade fairs hosted a total of 8,812 exhibiting companies, attracting around 1.2 million visitors.
